SPECTACULAR MUSICAL EVENING RAISES 1,200 FOR NORTH WEST CANCER RESEARCH FUND
MORE than 180 people enjoyed an evening of popular songs that raised 1,200 for North West Cancer Research Fund.
West Kirby Light Opera Society, one of the leading amateur operatic societies in the region, staged the evening called In the Spotlight at Westbourne Hall, on Thursday, April 26.
The event was organised by the Heswall Committee of NWCRF and included classic songs from the West End shows as well as a raffle and tea. Last year, the society raised 1600 for NWCRF from a similar fundraising concert.
Pat Mann, Honorary Secretary for NWCRFs Heswall Committee, said: I was amazed at the quality of the choir, so professional and with such a variety of music. The evening was highly impressive and thoroughly enjoyable.
