ï¿½900,000 RAISED BY LIVERPOOL CANCER RESEARCH CHARITY

North West Cancer Research Fund is delighted to announce that it has raised over ï¿½900,000 for cancer research in the last year.

Representatives from the 42 regional voluntary committees will come together to celebrate the income at the charityï¿½s annual General Meeting next week.ï¿½ The total sum is a staggering ï¿½901,263 and illustrates the hard work and dedication of the charityï¿½s volunteer committees.ï¿½ North West Cancer Research Fund has no full time, professional staff so virtually all money raised is done so by volunteers.ï¿½

North West Cancer Research Fund is an independent regional cancer research charity which is based in Liverpool.ï¿½

A cheque for ï¿½750,000 will be presented.ï¿½ This money will be spent on pioneering cancer research in the coming year, most of which will take place in The University of Liverpool.

The meeting is an important event on the charityï¿½s calendar especially as this year the guest speaker for the meeting is Mr Michael Potts.ï¿½ Mr Potts enjoys a high profile within the North West as the newly appointed High Sheriff of Merseyside.ï¿½ Michael is also the president of North West Cancer Research Fund, previously occupying the position of chairman within the charity.ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½

North West Cancer Research Fund was founded in 1948 and has many dedicated volunteers serving the charity for several decades.ï¿½ Throughout its 58 year history, North West Cancer Research Fund has consistently spent an average of 90p in every ï¿½1 directly on research.ï¿½

The meeting will take place at 2.30 pm on 31^st May in Liverpool Medical Institute.ï¿½
