MP RUNS, SAILS AND CYCLES TO RAISE MONEY FOR NORTH WEST CANCER RESEARCH FUND

Tim Farron MP and his wife, Rosie, are keen supporters of the Fund which has been supporting research in Lancaster University for over 10 years.� Rosie and Tim have both lost a parent to cancer recently.
On 18 March 2006, Tim, together with a small group of other athletes, �will be running, sailing and rowing from the north to the south of his constituency.� Starting at Grisedale Tarn, he will run approximately 8.5 miles to Waterhead and then sail 12 miles down Lake Windermere to Fell Foot Park.� He will then complete the triathlon by cycling 11 miles to Humphrey Head Point.
North West Cancer Research Fund is an independent regional cancer research charity which makes �750,000 available every year for fundamental research into the causes of cancer.� Virtually all of this money is raised through voluntary efforts and donations.� An average of nearly 90p in every � raised is consistently spent directly on research.� The Fund has voluntary committees in Lancashire and Cumbria.

Tim will also be raising more for New Holebird, a Leonard Cheshire Home for disabled people.
